Sabrina Carpenter and Jonas Blue have unveiled the hypnotic visual for their collaboration, ‘Alien’.
Directed by Carly Cussen, the London-shot visual begins with Sabrina trapped in a white room full of cameras. As she tries to deal with her surroundings, we see a series of television screens which reveal that Jonas is also trapped in a similar room.
As the visual progresses, both Sabrina and Jonas are seen becoming more and more agitated whilst being isolated in a series of unfamiliar rooms. The visual fits the song perfectly as their attempts to break free resembles the frantic search for reality when you cannot escape your own thoughts and emotions.
Speaking about the video, Sabrina said: “I wanted to portray how crazy you can go when you’re trapped inside your own head. The video is a perfect visual descriptive of what it means to feel ‘alien’ which can be a little dark and desolate, but also thrilling and full of suspension.”
Jonas added, “It was amazing to work with Sabrina and Carly Cussen on this. To see the essence of the song brought to life in visual form is mind blowing. I couldn’t be happier with the result.”
Whilst the ‘Alien’ video was premiered exclusively on Apple Music, it is now available to watch on YouTube and Vevo. Check it out below.
Since dropping ‘Alien’ earlier this month, the track has been climbing the charts worldwide. The release of the music video is surely set to further propel the song up the charts.
