It’s been a long wait for new music from Sam Callahan, but it’s here now. “Burns Like Fire” is his brand new single; and, he managed to surprise us as well, by dropping a music video for the song, on the same day.
This single follows up his previous club track “I Love It When You”. Going down a much more personal route with this track, Sam Callahan impresses with his vocal delivery. The song was written by Sam Callahan and Jamie Sellers, and produced by the latter. It has been released on Nusic Global record label and has already received plenty of support.
As for the music video, it was directed by Johnny Marchtta, co-directed by Bjorn Franklin, and co-stars models Rebecca Liddle, Jo Marney, and Jazmine Martin.

The song itself is one of those tracks you fall in love with in the first second. It’s catchy and rhythmically great. Sam Callahan’s vocals are on fire, full of heart-pumping emotions, whilst keeping it upbeat with a contemporary-pop spin. The after-chorus verse gives us Ed Sheeran “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You” vibes in every way.
The single release comes with a digital booklet, that you can open in a PDF. In this file, you can learn the lyrics of the song, look at the stunning single cover in full-screen mode, as well as an exclusive image.
As for the music video, they have definitely taken the “before it blew up in my face” lyric into account. We watch Sam Callahan walk through a forest as three models individually come up to him and throw colour powder at him before clinging on to him. The ending sees all three girls around him, ripping his t-shirt off, all clearly wanting him.
The final scene sees him waking up in bed as if it was all a dream; however, when he removes the duvet, he is covered in the colourful powder. The main part of the video was shot in one take, and there are a few instances where things aren’t supposed to happen, such as when the models catch his necklace and they have to adjust their grip – that necklace just gets in the way.
His sister, Sophie Callahan, released a behind the scenes video, as part of her weekly vlog number 34, back in March, when the video was filmed. Not only that, but Sam Callahan found some time to answer our questions about the song and the video in our exclusive interview.
