Superstar electronic music producer Sam Feldt joins forces with Australian sensation Tones And I to release “House For Kings,” the perfect dance-pop song for summer.
Speaking about how the track came together, Feldt shares, “Working with Tones And I on ‘House For Kings’ was an incredible experience. The initial topline and vocal of the song had a quirky, fun style, which lent itself perfectly to creating a fresh, bouncy, and radio- and club-ready dance-pop track. While taking a break in Bali, we found ourselves in a relaxed vibe at the beautiful W resort, which houses a sound studio where we recorded the final bits of the vocals and brought the track to life. Our creative energy flowed freely in the studio, and we were able to finish the track in less than a day of physically working together. What made our collaboration even more special was the ability to quickly bounce ideas back and forth and incorporate Tones’ input on the production. Not only did we save time by avoiding long email exchanges, but I also discovered how amazing, friendly, and professional Tones is as a person. Overall, our time together in Bali resulted in an upbeat and infectious dance-pop song that we’re both extremely proud of.”
While Tones And I adds, “I wrote this song on my first ever songwriting camp in Vegas last year. It was a fun and different experience writing over there, then to collaborate with Sam, and finish off the song in Bali together, made it even more special.”
“House For Kings” rolls out on low-slung, trickling flavors of dance-pop as the oh-so-lush vocals of Tones And I imbue the lyrics with posh, longing flavors. Rippling with scrummy, alluring pulses, the rhythm provides a lusciously contagious tempo.
“Don’t know that I got you with me, you with me / Don’t know that I got you with me, you with me / Don’t know that about you, don’t know, badabadoo.”
Suffused with a hypnotic rhythm capped by the evocative voice of Tones And I, “House For Kings” is at once beguiling and magnetizing.
