It seems as though Sam Smith has been out of the spotlight for a while, but with the Oscars coming up this weekend, we are hoping that will change.
With the buzz of the Oscars fast approaching, we are looking forward to what the night will bring. There will be plenty of interviews coming from the red carpet, but there’s one person who we might not be seeing shortly after that night. Sam Smith hasn’t released any music lately, but we’re hoping that will change soon.
Sam Smith has definitely had his share of success following the release of his album, In the Lonely Hour in 2014. It has been two years since the release of his album and we are hoping to hear some new music coming from him in the near future.
He had originally planned to take some time off, until he found out that he was nominated for an Academy Award.
Speaking with Deadline Hollywood, he said, “I’ve learned some stuff about myself in the past few months, and the truth is, I can’t take time off.
“I haven’t got a plan to release anything as of yet, and I don’t think I want to release anything for a bit.”
Sam wants to wait until he feels as though the music is right before he releases anything new and by stepping out of the Hollywood scene, he can recoup and find his inspiration for writing again. Until then, we’ll be playing his album on repeat.
