One of our favorite trailer releases from SDCC has an ending line that’s short, simple, and powerful. When asked what he calls himself, a character simply replies: “First name Mister. Last name, Glass.”
It goes without saying that we’re talking about the 2019 film by M. Night Shyamalan, and we have to say, the trailer was almost impossible to look away from.
While we love a classic horror movie as much as the next guy, there’s something about a psychological thriller that really draws us in. The gore and the fear and the slasher movie genre is incredible, but we really love trying to piece together the puzzle of a thriller as it plays out in front of us.
So when we saw the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan‘s Glass, well…we hate wishing time away but is it 2019 yet?
Glass is going to challenge what we know about heroes and villains, and how could we expect any less? Combining Elijah Price and David Dunn with Kevin Crumb is a promise that we’re just at the beginning of their stories. Unbreakable and Split have taken us on part of this journey, but here and now, is a fresh playing field.
Sarah Paulson will take on the role of Dr. Ellie Staple who treats patients with the disillusion of being villains or superheroes. Though she’s seen a lot, we can’t imagine that she’s been up against a trio quite like this one yet.
Maybe that’s where this new journey truly begins. It looks like a hell of a ride.
Glass hits theaters on January 18, 2019.
