Last night, seven-year-old Audrey Nethery’s dreams came true when she got to meet her idol Selena Gomez for the first time. Although, it seems that Selena is a pretty big fan of Audrey too.
Audrey has Diamond-Blackfan Anemia (DBA), a bone marrow disorder which affects the production of red blood cells in the body. She was diagnosed when she was just two months old and has already undergone over 20 blood transfusions. Whilst many people would be disheartened by such an illness, Audrey puts her energy into dance. Not only does she raise much needed funds and awareness of DBA, she also makes hundreds and thousands of people happy across the world with her dancing videos.
In fact, Audrey is an internet superstar. Since her mum uploaded the first video of Audrey doing Zumba, she has captured the hearts of people in the Zumba community and beyond, and has garnered almost 1.3 million followers on Facebook. The seven-year-old radiates such joy, happiness and strength, you just can’t help but smile when you see her dance. Her videos have led to her performing at an Orlando Zumba convention and an appearance on the Rachael show.
Back in January, Audrey was videoed singing and dancing to Selena Gomez’s ‘Love You Like A Love Song’. The video was such a hit online and even managed to capture Selena’s attention!

Last week, Audrey found out that she would be getting to see Selena in concert. Better still, she was told that she would be getting to meet her idol in person too! Watch her reaction video here. We challenge you to watch this without tearing up a bit – it’s absolutely priceless!
Last night, Selena’s Revival tour hit Louisville, Kentucky, and the two finally met! We were already expecting an overload of cuteness, but nothing could quite prepare us for the adorable Instagram video that Selena posted!
Captioned “Finally got to meet this sweetheart -she owned it fully”, the video shows Audrey and Selena singing and dancing to ‘Love You Like A Love Song’. It’s clear to see that nothing fazes Audrey – she performs like a pro and Selena can’t keep her eyes off the little darling.
It’s adorable how Selena spent the entire dance bending to Audrey’s height and put the spotlight on the dancing queen. We think she picked up some new dance moves from Audrey too – expect to see them at a Revival show near you soon! Our hearts completely melted when the duo had a cuddle at the end, we may have shared a tear or ten.
