When the movie Neighbors came out, we all had high hopes.
Seth Rogen, who co-starred in the controversial comedy “The Interview” alongside James Franco last winter as a TV show producer was a completely different character in Neighbors-a new parent, Mac Radner who had just moved into a house with his wife, Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne).
Zac Efron, who’s had a special place in the hearts of millennials around the world since High School Musical hasn’t strayed far from his previous role as the musical basketball player Troy Bolton, fitting comfortably into his new role as the frat boy next door, Teddy Sanders.
The movie fell slightly short of expectations, earning a modest Rotten Tomatoes rating of 73%.
Geared up for another go, the cast has started shooting for the sequel “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” in Atlanta-this time, with some new additions. Chloe Grace Moretz (If I Stay, Carrie, Kick-Ass) revealed her involvement in the film in July. Recently, Selena Gomez was spotted on set and our 2007 selves are absolutely delighted.
No stranger to the world of acting after 4 seasons of “Wizards of Waverly Place”, Selena Gomez has been another actress many have grown up with. Also having worked with James Franco, her acting roles have matured as well, as shown in the 2013 film “Spring Breakers”. Seen in a pink ombre dress with matching heels and earrings, she could be playing one of the sorority girls!
Selena hasn’t made any announcements about the movie, currently involved in other projects such as her appearances in Pantene and Adidas ads but so far, things seem promising.
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising is set to hit theatres May 2016.
