Bad Liar by Selena Gomez is featured on everyone’s Summer playlists and it’s the song which nobody can get out of their head. Therefore, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that the music video for the track has reached 100 MILLION views on Vevo.
Selenators were desperate for new music from their favourite songstress towards the end of 2016 and, after taking some time away from the spotlight, Miss Gomez dropped It Ain’t Me, a track which she collaborated with Kygo on and which has had the whole world bopping for the past few months.
After this song dropped, fans were yearning for more music from Selena and their wishes were finally granted on 18th May when Bad Liar was released. The video came a few weeks after and to say it sent fans into a frenzy would be an understatement. The video allowed Selena to showcase her acting abilities as she plays not one, not two, but four different characters: a school girl, a gym teacher, a male teacher, who was also the girl’s father, and her mother.
The video has since been praised as “a breath of fresh air” and we couldn’t agree more as we love how it depicts the prevalent issue of sexuality within teenagers and how it subtly dismisses any hetero-normative preconceptions people may have whilst watching the video.
This video is now Vevo certified after surpassing the 100 million mark, making it Selena’s twelfth video as a solo artist to achieve this and her tenth as a lead.
Selena recently released a new single titled Fetish, featuring Gucci Mane, which you can listen to below.
