    Shania Twain Tweets Message Of Sympathy After Merle Haggard passes away

    Country/pop crossover sensation Shania Twain has tweeted a message of sympathy, after country music legend Merle Haggard sadly passed away.

    The legendary country star passed away yesterday, on his birthday (Wednesday April 6th), after complications from Pneumonia, he was 79.

    During his sixty year career the singer won countless awards, including three Grammy’s, and nineteen ACM awards, he was also a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

    After the sad news of Merle’s passing broke this morning, Shania Twain was quick to tweet her reaction the news, saying: “I’m so sad to hear we’ve lost @merlehaggard. His music was a staple in our home, growing up.” (sic).

    Fellow country stars,  Lady Antebellum were also quick to voice their reaction to the death of Haggard, saying: “.@merlehaggard crafted songs that were for every day people. He was relatable and real and will continue to inspire!” (sic).
