We don’t think Jimmy Fallon was singing Aaron Carter’s 2000 hit “That’s How I Beat Shaq” after Monday night’s edition of “Lip Sync Battle.”
Kicking off Fallon’s week-long taping of The Tonight Show in Orlando Florida, the former professional basketball player faced off against the late night host for its highly anticipated pretend-singing competition.
Fallon’s attempt to hype the crowd with House of Pain’s smash-hit “Jump Around” was simply no match for O’Neal. With the help of Pitbull, he channeled his inner Bobby Brown/Britney Spears and gave a fabulous performance of “My Prerogative.”
Going into the second round, Fallon upped his game, showcasing a costume change influenced by Ariana Grande and John Legend. He belted their recent remake of the Beauty and the Beast title track like no one was watching.
Just when you thought the ball was in Fallon’s court, O’Neal proved why he is indeed the Hall of Fame inductee, taking Elton John’s “Don’t Go Breaking my Heart” to new levels, literally. He picked his rival up off the ground.
