On a very hot Thursday afternoon, Shawn Mendes performed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles kick off the new football season. If you didn’t know, the Eagles won the Super Bowl in February and it was kind of a big deal for the city of Philadelphia.

Thousands of fans (including us) were packed into the concert part of Penn’s Landing to see Shawn Mendes perform. Before he came on stage, there were two other artists, LOCASH and Daya. Sadly, we missed LOCASH, since we got to Penn’s Landing around 4:30, but we did see Daya perform and put on a great show. She sang hit songs such as “Hideaway” and “Don’t Let Me Down.”
During a long intermission, there were two big screens that showed a short documentary of the Eagles 2017 season and their journey to be 2018 Super Bowl champions.
About an hour after Daya left the stage, Shawn finally came on. He was wearing a green jacket, a plain white t-shirt, and a pair of black pants. During his set, Shawn sang many of his pop hits such as “Treat You Better” and “In My Blood.” He sang other songs from his self-titled album, as well as other tracks from his previous releases.
After the concert ended, Shawn tweeted a message for his Philly fans.
Philly. You are UNREAL. Seriously forgot how incredible loud you guys sing. I love you!

He also posted about having trouble taking off his green shirt, which fans were quick to notice.
LOOL it was IMPOSSIBLE to take off! https://t.co/N8uKi7cJ9k

Even though it was very hot, Shawn and the other opening acts made the event all worth it.
We can’t wait for him to return to the area on his world tour next year!
