Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan sound incredible on ‘Mercy’ Duet

If you’re a fan of Shawn Mendes or Niall Horan you’ve probably been waiting for the day that the two would finally come together on a track. Shawn has brought up wanting to work with Niall in interviews and Niall has mentioned that their schedules have been hit and miss but working together was something they both desired. When the American Music Awards presented the opportunity for both Niall and Shawn to be at the same incredible event, they came together for more than just rehearsals for their performances that evening.

That’s right! Shawn took to Instagram with a video of a ‘Mercy’ duet with Niall last night and we haven’t been able to stop listening to it.

Shawn’s caption simply says, Niall is a lad, which works perfectly because any amount of words wouldn’t have done the duet justice; we know because we’ve tried. It simply is one of the best snippets of a song we’ve heard all year and if this is just what can happen from being behind the scenes at an award show together, imagine what they could do in a studio. ‘Mercy’ has grown to be one of the hottest songs of 2016 and Shawn has taken every opportunity he has been presented with this year to show that he has talent, passion, and staying power. Niall is no stranger to talent and staying power either and his big show of passion this year came from his ability to write an album without anyone knowing, drop a single out of nowhere, and now be recording said album.

They’re two absolute powerhouses and the video with over 1 million views and almost 70k comments further proves how much the world is begging for a full length, recorded (or live) duet.

We’ll be waiting (as patiently as we can) for the song boys, thanks for the snippet in the mean time.
