Shawn Mendes is no stranger to success, and his second studio album seems to be following suit. His debut album, Handwritten, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart selling approximately 119,000 copies in its first week. The album was eventually certified platinum in the U.S, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Colombia.
‘Treat You Better’, the critically acclaimed pop smash has already made its way around worldwide charts. It’s been a top 10 hit in almost every country it’s charted in and is holding tight on iTunes in over 50 countries; Spotify chartings included.
Mendes’ Illuminate is currently charting at #1 in over 60 countries, a new self-accomplished record for the Canadian singer as his popularity continues to grow thanks to his talents as a lyricist and musician.
Industry sources predict the album to be a surefire #1 due to the artists’ relatively high numbers during his last Handwritten era. Stay tuned next week to find out where he lands on various physical charts!
