On February 19th, Simple Plan released their first studio album in 5 years. The band’s fifth studio albun Taking One For The Team debuted at number 1 in 10 countries! Their debut single from the album, “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed” features rap superstar Nelly and has over 2 million views on YouTube. The guys are set to start their Taking One For The Team tour on February 24th but not before shooting a video for their newest single, “Singing In The Rain” which we hope will be released very soon!
We thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of Pierre, Jeff, David, Seb and Chuck’s best moments with Simple Plan in honor of their recent album release.
Throughout the years, the guys have released some very memorable videos. They have also had some special guests featuring Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus, and Sean Paul. Here are some of our favorites!
“Addicted”
“I Don’t Want To Go To Bed”
“Welcome To My Life”
“I’m Just A Kid”
The guys are no stranger to the big screen, having released their documentary-style film in 2003 titled A Big Package For You. The movie basically followed the guys around the world on their tour and in the studio. In 2002 they recorded the theme song for the animated cartoon What’s New Scooby-Doo? and starting in an episode as themselves. They played a bit role in the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie A New York Minute and recorded songs for the 2003 remkae of Freaky Friday, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed and Alpha and Omega: The Legend of the Saw Tooth Cave.
Not only are the guys dedicated and passionate about music, they are passionate about helping the young generation with the Simple Plan Foundation. The foundation was started in 2005 and has been a big part of the guys’ life since. The foundation is aimed at helping young people who are affected by life threatening illnesses by making their transition into adulthood easier. They also believe that music can be used as a tool to help young adults steer away from a life of crime, drugs and gangs.
Simple Plan has a lot to be proud of over the years having 5 albums, a movie and a successful charity. We are very proud of them at CelebMix and only wish continued success in the future!
