Singer-Songwriter The Guv Returns With Romantic Ode Single “Love And Joy”

Back with his first single of 2022 is The Guv with this heart-warming folk-inspired track titled “Love And Joy”. His music definitely has an air of Queen to it but in a much more stripped back mellow essence and this new single is exactly that but more so. The track follows up his previous single release “December in Istanbul”.

The Guv, real name Sahin Guvenilir, is an Istanbul-born but London-based singer-songwriter who has been making an impact with the songs he has been releasing. He started music in his teenage years drawing inspiration from local artists such as Zeki Muren and Baris Manco to world-renowned artists such as Queen, Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. Over the years he has grafted by performing at local bars and pubs, working his way up to stage performances in front of hundreds. After relocating to London, he went on to release his debut single “Waterlane Chronicles” and continued to release ever since, building up his music portfolio as well as his audience and fans, and it’s certainly working, with his previous single “December in Istanbul” close to reaching 30,000 Spotify streams and we’re sure this follow-up will sail right on past in streaming numbers.

This song has been written by Sahin Guvenilir and produced by Burak Kahraman at Sync Booth, whilst it was mastered by Andy Baldwin at Metropolis Studios who also worked with The Who, UB40 and Pet Shop Boys. The track is a joyous mentality of sound with The Guv’s vocals eliciting chills with his raw and honest emotion flooding out of his lyrics which emphasise the love of life and captures the essence of happiness that we receive when we’re in a comfortable confident relationship with ourselves. If anything, “Love And Joy” showcases The Guv’s ability to infuse different genres of music and create an awesome track, we feel hints of rock, country-rock, pop-rock, folk, and indie. Positivity flowing through, this certainly reaches our heart and is something we could totally listen to again and again.

Talking about the track, The Guv said: “My music, and particularly what everyone heard on ‘December in Istanbul’ is an evocative score developed to give the listener an honest space in which they can fill with their vibrant creativity.”
