When first learning that rapper Machine Gun Kelly was teaming up with 5H’s Camila Cabello for a new track, we knew the duo would deliver a dominant song that would not disappoint by any means. But, “Bad Things” is better than we ever imagined it to be. The smooth, yet edgy ballad has been on repeat ever since its highly anticipated release on Friday morning.
“Bad Things” revolves around a pain-is-pleasure kind of passion. As MGK’s heavy rap verses describe the two’s emotional roller coaster of a love affair, Cabello’s catchy hook completely lures us in. “If you only knew the bad things I like/Don’t think that I can explain it/What can I say, it’s complicated,” she sings over a sinister melody. Their different artistic styles compliment each other well as they find it hard to deny the physical attraction that is the sultry song’s primary focus.
We are not the only ones swooning over the chart-climbing pop hit that is currently #1 in 12 countries. Fans and friends immediately took to Twitter to express their ongoing obsession for “Bad Things.”

This is not the X Factor alum’s first time putting out a project without the rest of her dynamic girl group. The 19-year-old dropped “I Know What You Did Last Summer” with good pal, Shawn Mendes last November. The single was featured on Mendes’ Handwritten Revisited reissue and went on to win “Best Pop Video” and “Fan Fave Video” at the 2016 Much Much Video Awards. Mendes too of course, had to share his excitement for Cabello’s latest work.
.@camilacabello97 so incredibly proud of you. I love this! https://t.co/pMM9o8CI8s
