The weather is starting to warm up, and so is the music scene. Festival season is approaching…
We might not all be headed to Coachella with the likes of Kendall Jenner or Vanessa Hudgens, but that won’t stop us from eyeing some of the events coming to our city. Here are six music events to attend in 2016!
6. Vans Warped Tour
Location: Multiple stops in the United States!
Another round of Vans Warped Tour is fast approaching! This time, fresh faces such as Against the Current and State Champs are along for the ride. Feeling nostalgic? Joining them are all-time favourites Sum 41, Good Charlotte, and Yellowcard!
5. KIIS FM’s Wango Tango
Location: Carson, USA
Loving what you’re hearing on the radio? This is the place to be. We can’t think of a better deal than seeing some of the biggest artists of the year in sunny California. This year’s lineup includes Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, and Zayn!
4. Lollapalooza
Location: Chicago, USA
This year marks 25 years of Lollapalooza, and some of these artists have definitely been around for that long. (Radiohead and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, we’re looking at you.) The lineup includes both artists who’ve been around as long as the festival itself and some newer artists we love such as Halsey and Ellie Goulding!
3. Capital FM Summertime Ball
Location: London, United Kingdom
Don’t think that we’ve forgotten about Capital FM’s Summertime Ball. Details haven’t yet been announced for this year’s show, but we have no doubt that it’s going to be spectacular! Last year, they had stars like One Direction, Little Mix, and Jason Derulo take the stage. We’re excited to find out what’s in store this year!
2. Reading Festival
Location: Reading and Leeds, United Kingdom.
One event, two locations, three days of awesome artists and bands. Featuring artists from rap to rock, fans of Fetty Wap to Fall Out Boy come together at Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park to enjoy the music that they love, and possibly discover a liking for artists of another genre! This year’s lineup includes G-Eazy, Twenty One Pilots, and The 1975.
1. Veld
Location: Toronto, Canada
This is for the EDM fans. Raving’s made a quick comeback in the past year and if you’ve been a part of it, this is the event for you! Head to Downsview Park for a good time. Headlining this year’s event are The Chainsmokers, Deadmau5, and DVBBS as well as other awesome artists.
