Six Reasons to Love Jensen Ackles

On March 1st, 1978, an amazing man/hero was born. Since that day, he has brought smiles to thousands and thousands of people, both by being himself and by playing some unforgettable characters.

Some people know him as the first Eric Brady from Days of Our Lives. Some may know him as CJ from Dawson’s Creek. A few may recognize him as Priestly from Ten Inch Hero. If you’re unfamiliar with all of these… then you’re probably familiar with the one and only Dean Winchester from Supernatural.

Yes, we’re talking about the incredible Jensen Ackles.

Even if you’re not a fan of any of his shows, there are plenty of reasons to stan the thirty-eight-year-old. The list could go on for a while, but we’re just going to give you a few of our favorites.

Get ready… Here are six reasons to love Jensen Ackles.

1. His portrayal of Dean Winchester

Jensen Ackles has had some great characters, but he’s obviously most well-known for Dean Winchester, one of the main characters in the hit show Supernatural. Through Dean, Jensen is able to show exactly what he’s capable of. He can have you laughing for hours on end, but he can also bring you to tears in a matter of seconds. In the above video, we gave you some of the most heart-wrenching scenes with Jensen playing the older Winchester brother. Warning: spoilers and heartache ahead.

2. He can act, but he can also sing!

At the official Supernatural conventions, Jensen often comes onto the stage and sings for the audience. In the video above, Jensen sang “Whipping Post” for everyone at NashCon this year. A lot of people don’t expect it, but Jensen has some killer vocals. If you don’t believe us, listen to him sing. He’s awesome.

3. His friendship with Jared Padalecki

With Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki playing the two Winchester brothers together for eleven seasons, it’s not surprising that they’re close. Their friendship is definitely something to admire, and we’d definitely consider them friendship goals. The video above shows some of their greatest moments together, both off and on the set of Supernatural.

4. He always manages to look good… even with really weird colored hair

In the movie Ten Inch Hero, Jensen played Priestley. For the part, he had to have some really odd-looking hairstyles. His hair was styled entirely different than usual, and Jensen also had to sport some unusual colors. Even with that and some crazy tattoos, Jensen still managed to pull the look off. The video above is his first scene in the movie, and you’ll see; he still looks great with orange hair.

5. His support for the #SPNFamily Crisis Support Network

Right now, an incredible project is in the works. Misha Collins’ (Castiel on Supernatural) charity Random Acts will be creating a support network just for SPN fans. Fans will be trained to deal with different types of crises, and with that training, they will be helping other fans who are in need of help. Jensen recently joined the project, aiding in the clothing campaign to fund the network. As you can see from the picture above, both Misha and Jensen have their faces on the tees. Together, they were able to sell over 38,000 items.

To learn more about the project, we wrote about it when the announcement first came out. You can read that article here.

6. His friendship with Misha Collins

You know we had to include this. According to Tumblr, Destiel (Dean/Castiel) was the third most reblogged ship on the website in 2015. On top of that, they’ve won an award for best TV chemistry. And apart from Supernatural entirely, they’re still rather close. It’s hard not to smile when you watch them goofing around, or when you’re watching Dean explain something to a confused Castiel. The video above has the two speaking together about their campaign, but it also includes Jensen laying his head on Misha’s shoulder… Aw. More friendship goals.

See? Definitely lovable. So what about you – what are your favorite things about Jensen Ackles? Do you watch him on Supernatural? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us at @CelebMix.
