In what is essentially a blast from the past, British Pop icon Sophie Ellis-Bextor has returned with her newest single “Hypnotized, which sees her team up with Glaswegian producer, composer and performer Wuh Oh to take her back to her original dance roots.
With this new song, you’re getting Sophie at her best – whilst tackling an alternate style with an avant-pop euphoria – additionally featuring an experimental off-kilter melody backed by immediate lyrics. In fact, Sophie has already come out saying this is her favourite kind of wonky pop song!
“Fast-paced, melodic and has a kind of ‘what did I just listen to?!’ brilliance to it, too,” Sophie says about the song. “There’s also a dance routine if you fancy. It’s a pleasure to collaborate with the very talented Wuh Oh and the song has been going down so amazingly when we do it live, I can’t wait to release it.”
Sophie has been performing at UK festivals over the summer with many live dates still to come. She has also been announced as part of the line-up for Radio 2 Live, which takes place in Leeds on 17th September.
