Star2 is a major influence in hip-hop who has made a name for himself as the future of Asian-American rap. His latest EP Different Breed brings in $tupid Young for a powerful six track collaboration written about the hardships of each rapper’s upbringing and modern day glory.
Different Breed combines nebulous echoes, vicious beats, and unshakeable vocals for a high intensity listening experience. The EP draws together a cataclysmic team of featured artists including Lil Poppa (signed with Yo Gotti’s CMG label) and MB Nel. Star2 and $tupid Young reflect on the new obstacles that come with rising success. On opening track “6 Ft. Away”, Star2 raps, “Everybody say they love me now because they see the fame and the money.” Different Breed is Star2 and $tupid Young’s moment to take the mic and deliver hard-hitting truths on fame and fortune.
Star2 was born in a Thai refugee camp. After fleeing, he grew up in San Diego where many of the core experiences behind his music occurred. He has worked alongside an impressive library of musicians including Soulja Boy, Mozzy, Luh Kel, HoodTrophy Bino, YSN Flow, and MarMar Oso. Different Breed is his latest release.
