It was the single that shot a young Shawn Mendes to the top of charts worldwide and it has now been certified double platinum within the UK! This means that ‘Stitches’ has now sold over 1.2 MILLION copies. Not too shabby if you ask us.
The song has also been certified 4x platinum in the United States, Italy, Norway and Australia, 7x platinum in Sweden and 3x platinum in Denmark.
Despite being released in 2015, the track moved its way up the official UK chart, eventually reaching its peak of #1 in January 2016 when it dethroned ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber to take the top spot, thus becoming his first number one in the country.
Since ‘Stitches’ propelled Mendes to global success, he has embarked on a world tour and began the build up to his sophomore album ‘Illuminate’ which is due for a September 23rd release. (We can’t even begin to describe how excited we are for this album.)
