In the last moments of the latest Stranger Things 3 teaser, Netflix hinted that the new season will not be returning to our screens until Summer 2019, and at last this has officially been confirmed.
Due to season one being released in 2016 and season two being released in 2017, fans had automatically assumed that the third season will be released in 2018, however, the Duffer brothers have decided that they need a little extra time this time round and ‘it will be worth the wait’.
This weekend, at the Television Critics Association press tour, a reporter questioned why had the season been delayed, in which Netflix’s Vice President of Original Content, Cindy Holland responded, “Well, it’s a hand-crafted show. You know, the Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard and they understand the stakes are high. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. And so, they really want to take the time to get it right. I think it’s gonna be a fantastic season, it’s gonna be worth the wait.”
We believe you, Cindy. It will most certainly be worth the wait!
And while season three may not be returning this year, at least we have this video to show us that it is back in the production stages and fan accounts online have been posting on-set photos throughout the previous months.
For now, we will sit back and binge the first two seasons to fill out Stranger Things void!
