00’s hit reality show Survivor is set to make a HUGE comeback this month, with the BBC set to air a brand new season of the groundbreaking TV series.

Described as being the “ultimate physical and psychological challenge”, the show promises viewers a compelling test of brains, brawn and betrayal as players compete to “outwit, outplay and outlast” their rivals to be crowned the Sole Survivor.

Contestants are marooned in a tropical location where they are divided into two tribes, competing against each other in a range of physical and mental challenges for reward or immunity. One by one, players are voted out of their tribes at the iconic Tribal Council until the two tribes eventually merge and the game becomes a head-to-head battle.

Ultimately only one person can triumph, winning the cash prize of £100,000 and the title of Sole Survivor.

With less than a week to go until the launch of the new series, here’s EVERYTHING you need to know about Survivor UK 2023…

When is Survivor UK on TV and BBC iPlayer?

Survivor is set to premiere on BBC One, and BBC iPlayer from Saturday, October 28th.

The first episode will air simultaneously on both platforms at 8.25pm. Episode two will follow on Sunday, October 29th from 8pm.

    Who will host the show?

Comedian and presenter Joel Dommett will serve as host of the shows latest series!

Loved by audiences for his down to earth nature, and quintessential British sense of humour, the Gloucestershire native currently fronts both the The Masked Singer UK, and The National Television Awards.

Following the announcement of his appointment as host of the new series, Dommett said: “I’m the new host of the UK’s Survivor! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! A huge thank you to the BBC for trusting me with this. It’s such a hugely popular format all over the world and I’m super excited to help bring it to our sweet little country. Let the tribal councils BEGIN!”

With Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment for the BBC adding: “Having Joel on board is brilliant! With his natural comedic charm we are thrilled that he is going to be on hand guiding, encouraging and challenging our contestants as they all try to be the sole survivor!”

Where was the new series filmed?

The latest season of the hit franchise was filmed at a secret location somewhere in the Dominican Republic.

Known for its beaches, resorts, and golfing, its terrain comprises rainforest, savannah and highlands, including Pico Duarte, the Caribbean’s tallest mountain.
