Sadly, we’re in the last days of Take That’s fifteenth year so we’ve created a round up of our ten favourite TT songs!
1. Hey Boy.
Hey Boy is Take That’s most recent single after they re-released their number one album III earlier in the year. With a chorus that makes you want to get up and dance and a both odd and wonderful video, there’s nothing not to love!
2. Rule The World
Rule The World is quite possibly Take That’s most famous single after it scored number two way back in 2007 after the release of their come back album, Beautiful World. The band preformed it at the 2012 London Olympics just days after lead singer Gary Barlow’s daughter Poppy was sadly still born.
3. Pray
Pray became the band’s first number one in 1993 after a string of top ten hits and became the first of many, after the group went on to bag 11 more number ones over the next 11 years.
4. The Flood
Regarded as many as the best come back single of all time, The Flood was the first of Take That’s songs to feature them as a five piece again after Robbie left the band in 1995, a year before they split up for ‘good.’ The video, filmed on the River Thames in London, received almost five million views in it’s first week.
5. Shine
The song that is commonly recognised as an ode to ex-member Robbie Williams stayed at number one for two weeks at the beginning of 2007 and is famed for being the song used in the adverts for the British supermarket Morrison’s.
6. Do What You Like
Gary Barlow. Leather. Jelly. Do we need to say anything more?
7. Hold Up A Light
The ballad sung by Mark is toe tappingly brilliant and makes us want to get up and tell everyone that life is a stage. It’s just blooming brilliant.
8. Flaws
Flaws is one of the most beautiful songs Take That have ever recorded. The entire song, sung by Gary, is raw and emotional and can bring a tear to anyone’s eye.
9. Ain’t No Sense In Love
A song all about a confusing relationship has never seemed quite so wonderful. The song from Beautiful World that features backing vocals from Jason throughout is clear and relaxing with deeply meaningful lyrics that make you think about love and your relationships.
10. Never Forget
One of the most famous and most brilliant Take That songs ever. Fin.
