The 2018 American Music Awards were full of unforgettable performances and moments fans have continued to boast about on social media. Between multiple artists winning big and appearances by some of the general public’s favorite artists, including Camila Cabello and Post Malone, this year’s AMAs was one to remember.

Several artists from a variety of genres were acknowledged for their work. Two artists in particular, Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello, each won four awards and practically took over the show as two of the most powerful female artists in the industry.

Swift took home the award for Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock to contribute to her four wins and although Cabello was also nominated for that same award, she could, as usual, not be more happy for her friend.

Swift and Cabello had toured together on her Reputation Tour which took place throughout the summer and continued thereafter. Swift, as a result of her successful tour, won the AMA award for Tour of the Year as well. The ‘I Did Something Bad’ singer also won Favorite Album – Pop/Rock and Artist of the Year. Fans of Swift were beyond excited that she attended this award show, as the singer is usually touring or booked when these events occur.

Cabello, only 21 years old, was awarded four AMA awards as well and made it very clear that she was beyond grateful for her family, fans and team during every acceptance speech. The ‘Havana’ singer performed her newest single ‘Consequences,’ with an orchestral twist, during the show and undeniably won over the audience. She took home awards for Favorite Song – Pop/Rock, Favorite Music Video and Favorite Collaboration for ‘Havana,’ and New Artist of the Year.

There were several performances during the AMAs that included Post Malone ft. Ty Dolla $ign, Mariah Carey, Ella Mai and Twenty One Pilots. Social media blew up with comments after each one using several hashtags related to the award show.
