The wait for new music is finally over for fans of 2017 Operación Triunfo contestant Thalía Garrido as she releases her debut single “Quien Quiero Ser”. The single comes a year after her appearance on the hit Spanish talent show and is a catchy, up-tempo song with the potential to become a huge hit for the singer with the music video already attracting over 86,000 views in less than 24 hours.
The song has an inspiring message about freedom and being who you are. Thalía has reiterated this on her Instagram posts telling her fans that “However many obstacles life throws at you, you are going to show the world who you are. WE BREAK THE BARRIERS IMPOSED BY SOCIETY!!”

Thalía rose to fame last year as a contestant on the ninth season of Spanish talent show Operación Triunfo, where she reached the fourth Gala of the competition finishing in 14th place after facing the public vote against Cepeda. Although not in the Academy for long, Thalía still gave us some memorable performances including her renditions of Ariana Grande’s “Break Free” and Malú’s “Cenizas”. As well as this, she performed duets with Raoul, Nerea and Miriam.
Operación Triunfo was a massive success in Spain last year with millions of viewers tuning in to each gala to watch the contestants performances and get there chance to vote for their favourites. After the show, the sixteen contestants who made it into the Academy embarked on a nationwide tour over the spring and summer months of 2018.
