The 61st Grammy Awards just ended and what a night it was! Check out highlights and all of the winners here.
At the Staples Center in LA, the awards started off with a fire performance of “Havana” by Camila Cabello, who was joined by Ricky Martin and J Balvin.
Host Alicia Keys brought out powerful women in Hollywood – Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama, Jada Pinkett Smith, and JLo, to talk about the importance of music.
Next, Shawn Mendes and Miley Cyrus took the stage to deliver a breathtaking and hot performance of “In My Blood.” The pair recently sang “Islands in the Stream” together at the Dolly Parton MusiCares tribute.
“Shallow” won for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Lady Gaga accepted the award. Gaga also took home the award for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin?).” “Shallow” also won for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Childish Gambino took home the award for Song of the Year for “This is America,” becoming the first rapper to win in this category. He was not present to receive it. “This Is America” also received the award for Best Music Video.
Katy Perry, Maren Morris, Miley Cyrus, Little Big Town, and Kacey Musgraves joined Dolly Parton on stage for a medley of her hits to honor her being this year’s Musicares Person of the Year.
Best Country Album was awarded to Kacey Musgraves’ “Golden Hour.” Musgraves also took home Best Country Solo Performance for “Butterflies.”
Alicia Keys performed a medley of hit songs on a piano before belting out “Empire State of Mind.”
Drake’s “God’s Plan” won Best Rap Song. His microphone cut out while speaking.
Diana Ross celebrated her 75th birthday with a beautiful mashup of some of her hits.
Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson performed “Shallow” without Bradley Cooper. In typical Gaga fashion, she commanded the stage.
Smokey Robinson, Ne-Yo, JLo, Alicia Keys and more did a Motown tribute while performing “Dancing in the Street” and other big hits. JLo gave us all goals in her multiple costume changes.
BTS presented the award for Best R&B Album. H.E.R. took home this year’s award.
Brandi Carlile took the stage to perform “The Joke.”
Best Rap Album went to Cardi B for “Invasion of Privacy.”
Dua Lipa and St. Vincent looked like twins while performing “Mass Seduction,” “One Kiss,” and “Respect.”
Bob Newhart and Alessia Cara presented Best New Artist to Dua Lipa!
The Grammy Awards remembered everyone in the music community who passed away this year including Mac Miller, Aretha Franklin, Avicii, and more.
Record of the Year went to Childish Gambino for “This is America.” Gambino took home Best Rap/Sung Performance also.
Kasey Musgraves took home Album of the Year for “The Golden Hour.”
Some big names like Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and Taylor Swift were noticeably absent from this year’s awards.
Swift attended the BAFTA’s with boyfriend Joe Alwyn after being snubbed by the Recording Academy.
Grande, however, took home her first Grammy for “Best Pop Vocal Album- Sweetner.”
