This week saw The Funk Hunters drop their fourth single from their upcoming debut album, Typecast. The song is titled “Party Rockin” and follows-up the previous single “Turn Down The Silence” which featured DiRTY RADiO.
The album will contain 11 tracks including the two 2018 single releases, as we mentioned above, and last year’s singles “Hands Up (feat. Leo Napier)” and “Say Something (feat. LIINKS)”. All four tracks really show off the diversity of this album, with The Funk Hunters totally living up to their name. This new one, “Party Rockin”, is the perfect track to play just before your party really gets going.
The Funk Hunters consists of Nick Middleton and Duncan Smith. We chatted to the former in an exclusive interview, a month ago, where we talked about “Turn Down The Silence“, their debut album Typecast, and their career highlights. Their career has allowed them to release official remixes for the likes of Selena Gomez, Imagine Dragons, Gramatik, and Big Gigantic; as well as collaborations with Chali 2na and Defunk. We really can’t wait for them to drop their debut LP.

We’re not sure about you, but do you have a pre-party playlist to entice everyone into party mode? As this is definitely a track to add into that playlist, the one where people have just arrived and the party is just getting started. We can imagine this being the last track played until the true party really begins; and, we presume this is what The Funk Hunters play when they’re ready to turn their live DJ sets up a notch.
The song is inspired by Bboyism breakdancing trend. It adds a jazz instrument vibe wrapped up in a funky beat and a looped catchy vocal riff. This is totally a song we needed, and now we can’t stop listening.
“Party Rockin” is available to download and stream right now through Westwood Recordings. It is the official fourth single from upcoming debut studio album Typecast.
