There is no denying that watching movies has been a long favored past time for many individuals. It is true that the theaters are suffering due to the ubiquitous streaming services available, but there is still something special about going to the movies. Sure, you can pop some popcorn on the stove and eat it out of a movie-based theater bucket, but it just isn’t the same as going to the movies. That being said producing and directing a movie from the ground up can be an incredible amount of work and there are always things that can go wrong. Actors drop out, budgets get cut, locations get moved, and so on. This is why it is always important for movie fans to stay up to date with the latest movie news to find out if their favorite sequel or long-awaited premier will make it into theaters.
Wonder Woman 1984
I was announced back in October by Warner Brothers that Wonder Woman 1984 would be released in June 2020 instead of 2019. It looks like fans are going to have to wait an extra year on this blockbuster, but at least it is getting released. So, why the push back? The producer of the film, Charles Roven, was recently promoting his Netflix film Triple Frontier and he revealed that the filmmakers opted for the later released because they wanted the release date to match the successful release date of the 2017 film. In addition to this, they wanted to give the director of the film, Patty Jenkins, more time to balance the film with her TNT television miniseries I Am the Night. The initial studio release of the film was going to be in November, but Warner Brothers decided to push the film in order to give the production more time.
Captain Marvel Surpasses Expectations
Speaking of female superheroes, Captain Marvel has now been in selected theaters around the world for three weeks, but it still continues to soar. In fact, as of yesterday, it was reported that the film has already earned over $825 million on a global box office. This means that the film not on surpassed 2017’s original Wonder Woman, but it also surpassed 2002’s Spider-Man. As of right now, this makes Captain Marvel the 16th highest-earning superhero movie of all times. What’s even more impressive is that the film is on estimated to reach the $900 million mark at the worldwide box office by the end of this weekend. If you have some free time this weekend and are looking for some entertainment, you can also play online pokies in Australia or you can go check out this box office hit.
Scooby-Doo Finds Its Fred And Daphne
There is simply no denying that Scooby Doo is one of the all-time iconic cartoons. This cartoon has been around for years now and still seems to garner worldwide success. Not only does the cartoon still air on many of the cartoon channels around the world, but there have been a number of successful Hollywood movies made based on the dynamic crime-fighting team. That being said there is a new and upcoming animated Scooby-Doo film titled Scoob that is scheduled to be in production very soon. It looks like the directors have already found their Fred and Daphne. Zac Efron has signed on to play Fred whereas Amanda Seyfried is slated to play Daphne.
Efron is a highly young and upcoming actor that is known for his roles in Baywatch, The Greatest Showman, and Extremely Wicked.
Seyfried is known for her roles in Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!, and Fathers and Daughters. It looks like Efron and Seyfried will be joining Will Forte who is playing Shaggy, Gina Rodriguez who is playing Velma, Tracy Morgan who has signed on to play Captain Caveman, and Frank Welker who is going to be playing the iconic crime-fighting dog Scooby. Although this will mark the first time that a Scooby-Doo film is going to hit the big screen since 2004, there is huge anticipation behind the film. The director of the film, Tony Cervone, has already said that the crime-fighting team is going to team alongside other Hanna-Barbera characters to take on the Dick Dastardly.
