The Script are back with their eagerly awaited single The Last Time, and it’s like they have never been away.
The Irish band haven’t released anything in two years since their last studio album Freedom Child. They wrapped up their Freedom Child World tour, had a well-earned rest and then we’re back in the studio hard at work.
The band did a mini-tour last year across the UK and Ireland, performing at small intimate venues in places they have never performed before like Southend on Sea, they finished it with a charity gig at The Royal Albert Hall in London.
The Last Time, is the first taste of what’s to come from their upcoming sixth studio album, and it’s everything we love about The Script. It’s lead vocalist Danny sounding as good as ever, accompanied by the ever-talented Mark and Glenn on Guitar and drums. It’s a catchy emotive song, a song about breaking up and it is the last time with that person.
You said that it would last, but how come it’s the last time?
The sound of The Last Time, is very reminiscent of the band’s early songs, Breakeven and the classic The Man Who Can’t Be Moved. The Script have never released a bad song and they show no signs of doing it now. This a song we have no doubt you will hear in countless TV shows. One that will become a focal point of the band’s future shows and a firm fan favourite, and one we would love to see sung acoustic on a B stage during the bands next tour.
