The Weeknd has teamed up with Marvel Comics to release his very own graphic novel.
Written by Abel ‘The Weeknd’ Tesfaye, La Mar Taylor, and Christos Gage with art by Eric Nguyen and Guru-eFX, issue one of The Weeknd Presents: Starboy will be available on June 13.
Based on the title of the GRAMMY winning artist’s double platinum album Starboy, the graphic novel will be based in the fictitious city of Alphatron which is in the grip of a crime wave. With the cannibalistic criminal Jack ‘The Chef’ Smiley at large, it is down to Starboy to save the day.
Speaking about his latest exciting project, The Weeknd said, “Marvel is the pinnacle of success in their field and I’ve been a lifelong fan of their work. To be able to partner with them is a dream come true.”

Alongside the release of his graphic novel, The Weeknd has also teased his fourth studio album. In a series of posts on Instagram, the singer has shared clips of himself in the studio captioned ‘mastering’, implying that his next body of work isn’t too far away. As the Friday headliner of this year’s Coachella on April 13 and 20, we’ve got our fingers crossed that a new single is just around the corner.
