We can’t believe it’s been approximately EIGHT years since the Wonder Girls released their smash hit ‘Nobody’ which sold over 4.5 million copies in Korea alone!
Luckily for the girl group, they also happened to make a pretty important dent in the U.S. music market! Not only is ‘Nobody’ honored as the first ever K-Pop song to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, but its peak at 76 makes it the highest charting song for a K-Pop girl group!
The song was essentially part of the massive Korean Wave, with the songs impact stretching beyond Korea; most notably the United States.
The Wonder Girls were also openers for then popular boy band, The Jonas Brothers, that served as their promotional wheel throughout North America.
Their music video for ‘Nobody’ (and song in general) was actually inspired by “African-American 1960’s culture and famous R&B group The Supremes”. Check out the music video below!
The music video definitely gets us into the soulful K-pop groove! The girls obviously know how to do excellent choreography. Please teach us your smooth dancing ways!
