Todrick Hall annouced on his YouTube channel that he is going to Broadway. He will be taking over the role of Lola in Kinky Boots starting November 1, 2016.
Kinky Boots originally opened in 2013 with Billy Porter in the role of Lola. Kinky Boots is a musical about Charlie Price, a young business man trying to save his fathers show factory. Charlie meets Lola, an entertainer in need of good stilettos. Together they work to improve the factory. In the end, their greatest achievement is their friendship.
Todrick also shared a sneak peek of what his character will look like in the show. He credits the photo to David Ayllon.
Seems like 2016 is Todrick’s year. Although his MTV show, Toddy’s World, was not renewed for a second season but that did not stop him. He released his visual album, Straight Outta Oz and he will also be finishing up his tour in September.
