Tom Walker has released his first track of the year titled Wait For You, the track is the first new material from the artist since he released the deluxe version of his debut album What A Time To Be Alive in November.
Wait For You was written whilst Tom (like many of us!) has been in lockdown during the course of the coronavirus pandemic. The sincere, emotive track was inspired by a traumatic event which happened to one of the singer-songwriters friends in the past. Tom’s vocals offer a reassuring touch, reaching out to promise to standby and support the person in need; ‘When there’s nothing left, you know I’ll still be around‘. There’s true lyrical beauty within this track as it sings of the happiness and strength on the other side of a painful situation; ‘only you could make this into something beautiful‘. We love the message of hope being shared which is something everyone needs to be reminded of from time to time.
Touring might be on hold at the moment but that hasn’t stopped Tom Walker from going on his own world tour during lockdown. Earlier this month he did a Zoom World Tour playing to 30 fans in 6 different time zones. Celebrating the launch of the single he ‘visited’ Australia, France, Italy, Germany, the US and rounding off in the UK.
Wait For You is taken from Tom Walker’s yet to be announced second album. We can’t wait to see what the follow-up to 2019’s What A Time To Be Alive is going to sound like!
