Everyone has their own playlist to see in the new year, and this time, CelebMix are here to help. We’ve found the top five songs to make sure 2016 starts with a banger, whether you’re hosting a party, staying at home, or simply helping out with the music.

Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) – Silentó

The debut single released in March of this year is the perfect floor filler. With its catchy tune and easy lyrics, this song is sure to bring in the crowds dancing around. The song peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it has spent 6 non-consecutive weeks.

Uptown Funk – Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars

So you may be sick of this song, with the amount of times it’s been played over the year, but there’s a reason it’s still so popular after over a year of release. It’s been the biggest song of 2015, spending 14 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as 7 non-consecutive weeks at number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Freak of the Week – Krept & Konan

This hip-hop song is bound to be on any party playlist of 2015. The bassline is a great one to dance to and should never be left out of a house party. Peaking at number 9 on the UK singles chart, this song is bound to instil life into anyone.

Cha Cha Slide – Mr C The Slide Man

Okay, so this may not be your first choice outside of a school disco, but it’s a definite must-have. No one can resist getting up for a dance to this tune and makes for any successful party. Almost everyone knows the dance moves to this song, and even if you don’t, you get told what to do. Released in September 2000, the song didn’t peak to number one until March 2004, but it was well worth the wait.

What Do You Mean? – Justin Bieber

Love him or hate him, this song can’t be left out. Granted, some may avoid this song, but after a few drinks, they’ll dance to anything. 2015 has been a massive year for the singer, releasing banger after banger, changing a lot of opinions about him. Not only has his music changed, he also showed his softer side when he encouraged fans to help the NHS Choir grab the Christmas number one.
