In honor of Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy’s birthday, we gathered our top 5 favorite Fall Out Boy songs.

Fall Out Boy are an American band formed in Chicago, Illinois. The band has four members, Patrick Stump (rhythm guitar and vocals), Joe Trohman (lead guitar and backing vocals), Pete Wentz (bass and backing vocals) and Andy Hurley (drums).

    5. I Don’t Care

The video starts out with the band in their dressing room and two guys making fun of them. That’s what the whole video is based around. This song is something most people know, but they don’t know that it’s by Fall Out Boy. The lyrics, “Now I don’t care what you think, as long as it’s about me,” will be stuck in you head for days after hearing this song. Throughout the whole video, the band is messing around with people in public.

    4. What A Catch, Donnie

What A Catch is important to both the band and the fans. It’s based on a personal experience the band went through. It’s one of Fall Out Boys’ slower songs.

The song references Donny Hathaway, he was a famous singer/songwriter. He killed himself by jumping out of a hotel window in 1979. Throughout the whole song, you hear Mrs. Flack mentioned. That’s referencing Roberta Flack who performed duets with Donny. Pete Wentz wrote this song and uses Donny and Roberta to tell his own story of depression and attempted suicide.

    3. Thnks fr th Mmrs

Fans asked the band for shorter songs titles so they took all of the vowels out of Thanks For The Memories and shortened it to Thnks fr th Mmrs. The song is about to people who have broken up but still get together for the occasional one night stand. Sometimes it’s really hard for to people to understand what the song is about, but once they do they have a greater appreciation for the lyrics.

    2. My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)

This song was on Fall Out Boy’s first released album after the band’s hiatus. For the new album, they made a music video for each song and the videos all link together. When this song came out, you couldn’t change the radio station without hearing it. It’s commonly referred to as My Songs because the title is so long. If someone says they don’t know the song, just sing start singing the song and they should be able to start singing it with you.

    1. Sugar, We’re Goin Down

This is without a doubt, one of Fall Out Boy’s most popular songs. When you listen to the song, it tells a story of jealousy. “Am I more than you bargained for yet? I’ve been dying to tell you anything you want to hear, cause that’s just who I am this week…I’m just a notch in your bedpost, but you’re just a line in a song,” the lyrics show that the person telling the story will do and say anything to be an important part of the other person’s life, not just someone they can throw away.
