The college students on Boston, MA and more came to life when Tori Kelly graced the stage with her presence. Kelly, with no opener, took the stage at the House of Blues in Boston, MA on April 2nd along with her guitarist. Kelly and her guitarist were standing in front of a couch, a few lamps and lights that hung behind them, making it seem as if they were in a living room vibing out with a bunch of fans in the room.
Kelly, kicked off the show with an upbeat vibe, performing songs such as her hit “Nobody Love” and “Never Alone.” After the fifth or so song, Kelly started to mesh all the songs together with short breaks in between. She would play a minute or so each of each song and in between, she told a story, that eventually led up to where she is currently in her career. It was like a live biopic of Kelly, just it was actually her playing herself. She explained how she started out on Star Search, then got signed to a label at age 12, then went on to American Idol. The whole show was intimate, even though she plays semi big venues, it felt very intimate like she was talking to just you telling you her story.
Kelly’s voice riffs, gospel sounds and the intimacy of the show, made it a memorable night. It was definitely different from any show so far this year. You can purchase tickets to one of her upcoming shows here.
