Trenton William (Trent) Harmon is a singer from Amory, Mississippi who rose to fame after winning the fifteenth and final season of American Idol in 2016. Trent grew up singing at his local church and performing in musicals. Although he won American Idol, Trent also auditioned for The Voice back in 2014, however, he failed to made it past the audition stages (What were those judges thinking when they didn’t turn?). During his time on American Idol, he wowed both the judges and viewers week after week, putting in some breathtaking performances (particularly with his version of Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ at top four week). After winning the show, his debut single ‘Falling’ was released in April, and Trent was signed by Big Machine Records. He then went on to release his first country single ‘There’s A Girl’ in June 2016, as well as an EP named Trent Harmon – EP featuring ‘There’s A Girl’ as well as four other songs.
