Multi-talented musician and songwriter Trevor Drury returns with his emphatically mesmerising new single ‘Head On The Tracks’. The track’s spelling-binding lyricism and laid-back instrumentation have been merged together artfully, whilst Drury’s vocals elevate the track in a truly magnetic way.
Born and raised in San Diego, it wasn’t long before Drury realised his musical ambitions. He began to play the piano at the age of eight with an eagerness unusual for a player so young. Quickly, his hard work and perseverance began to pay off and those around him began to see just how talented he was as a musician.
Drury continued to play, write, and perform throughout his childhood and adolescent years, and it was when he moved to New York that he really honed his song writing talents. He quickly realized that he yearned for the academic rigour that an institution would provide and so he applied to the prestigious BIIM institute in London where he currently studies.
With its paired back piano led introduction, the track gives the listener the opportunity to settle in before we are greeted with the inclusion of Trevor’s powerfully commanding vocals. The track continues to intensify until we reach the boldly empowering chorus. “Trains on its way // play the game you payed to play,” sings Drury in his characteristically velvety tone
So, what can we expect next from this enigmatic young musician? Well, having just finished a run of shows supporting Ramin Karimloo and with the remainder of his album dropping throughout the year, make sure you don’t miss what Trevor Drury does next
