Irish singer/songwriter Una Healy has today delighted fans with the news she is to release two very ‘special songs’ – a unique cover of the 90s classic club anthem Set You Free, and a brand-new original track, Wild Grasses.

‘Only love can set you free…’
Originally written and recorded by British electronic group N-Trance, Set You Free became a massive underground hit upon its original white label release back in 1992, before going on to achieve MAJOR chart success in 1995 when re-released via All Around The World Records.
With its heavy techno beat, electronica trance synths and powerful vocal from 90’s dance singer Kelly Llorenna, the track went on to become anthem for an entire generation…
N-Trance – Set You Free
As a self confessed fan of 90’s dance music, Healy admits she relished the opportunity to remake and record her own version of the now iconic track, deciding to fully strip back the production and focus purely on the songs haunting melody and touching lyrics.
“I stripped the song down completely to bring out the deep emotion behind the song and bring to life what it means to me.” Una says. “The song reminds me of the unconditional love that surrounds us in all areas of our lives, not necessarily in a romantic sense, but the love of family and friends that keeps us strong through all of life’s adversities.”
“Leading up to Christmas, it’s a message that I personally need to remind myself and hope everyone can find comfort in”.
Gentle, emotive, heartfelt and pure, Una delivers a tender yet powerful vocal, rich in tone and soothing in sound.

Wild Grasses… ‘I hate to leave you now‘
Aside from covering one of her all time favourite songs, Una Healy has been busy in the recording studio working on brand new solo music set for release in 2020.
But before then, as a treat and thank you to fans, Una will release her new single Wild Grasses on December 26th – a heartfelt and authentic track that examines love and loss, fronted by Una’s unmistakably beautiful vocals.
Described as being timeless, reflective and classic in its sound, Wild Grasses is very much Healy going back to her roots, as she teams up with legendary American songwriter Eric Bazillian (Robbie Williams, Joan Osborne, Bon Jovi, LeAnn Rimes) to record what looks set to be her most personal work to date.
“Wild Grasses is one of those precious songs that was waiting for someone to write it.” Bazillian says of the track. “When Una sang the first line, ‘I hate to leave you now’ for me the floodgates opened and I was transported to that moment several months earlier sitting by my father in hospital, surrounded by his loved ones, as he breathed his final breaths and passed away.”
“Una and I became of a single mind as the lyric wrote itself. Tears were shed and smiles smiled as we told the story of how life, death, and love are all so preciously and delicately intertwined.”
“I had a melody in my head for weeks and met with Eric and started humming it and the first words just came out and it flowed from there.” Una adds.
“It has a real celtic folk sound to it too. It is a very comforting song for anyone who has lost someone close to know that their spirit will always be there with them.“
Wild Grasses will be available on all digital partners from December 26th.
