Season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is here and we feel like we’ve been waiting forever since Season 1 aired March 6th, 2015.

We’ve sat down completely willingly and have already binge-watched the entire 2nd season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and decided to review what we thought was utter perfection for a follow-up season! We can promise you that you will not be disappointed by Season 2, it is just as hilarious as Season 1, maybe even better!

There are spoilers ahead in this article, each episode of Season 2 has been written about and labelled so you know where you can read to if you’re only a few episodes in and you don’t want any spoilers. You have been warned!

The theme tune still has us jamming every time and it’s great to hear it once again, let’s talk Season 2 of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt!

Episode 8: Kimmy Goes to a Hotel.

It’s back to Christmas in this episode now that we’ve heard what has happened in the three months before. But it’s not actually Christmas, in true Kimmy style, it’s fake Christmas. Dong, in true romantic style, knocks on Kimmy’s window in a Romeo and Juliet style fashion and asks Kimmy to run away with him confessing his love for her. Kimmy agrees and the pair, who seem like a match made in heaven, run away to an abandoned hotel and they get up to no good running around on suitcase carts and stealing candy from an old vending machine before settling down together in the honeymoon suite with a love heart shaped bath. Kimmy gets arrested with Dong for trespassing after she called an ambulance for him when he has an allergic reaction to latex, then loses her virginity in a police car (to Dong) and due to Dong’s arrest, he gets sent back to Vietnam for breaking his Green Card regulations.

Jacqueline is fighting to keep her painting she bought at an auction to hold a power play over Deirdra as the Jewish community say that it was stolen from them, after talking to her parents Jacqueline realises that her family have been in a similar situation before and decides to give the painting back meaning she no longer has any money.

Titus quits his job realising that he wants to be more ambitious with his career in theatre and wants to dedicate all his time to theatre, despite the fact he has no money and Kimmy is still paying all the bills and rent.

Sometimes we can be a little hypocritical in life and what we do to others we probably wouldn’t like happening to us. This episode was a reminder that we need to see things from a different perspective to get the best outcomes sometimes whether that is for a career or about somebody else’s feelings. Taking a step back can really benefit you and we loved hearing that message!

Our favourite quotes from the episode are:

“Numbers, the most boring of all the shapes!” – Titus

    “Don’t worry, it’s just asbestos” – Lillian.

    8.8/10 star IMDB rating.

This is all of us... Admit it.
This is all of us… Admit it.

Overall, each and every episode in the second season considered, we’ve been taken on a journey of discovery with the cast of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. We admit, the first season was great so we were worried they wouldn’t be able to follow, but they did spectacularly. If you haven’t seen the show you really should and if you have, watch it again! The show is full of messages that every single person can relate to about love and friendship. The messages that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt share are important whether it is the message of self-acceptance or accepting others. The character development in the show has blown us away and the characters feel even realer despite the ridiculousness of the situations they can get themselves into. CelebMix absolutely recommends that you watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt!
