On the latest episode of Shadowhunters, a trip to the Seelie Queen caused riffs between Simon and Clary’s relationship, when Clary was forced to kiss the man she had feelings for, which resulted in a steamy makeout session with Jace.

Like this love triangle wasn’t already complicated enough!

In the upcoming episode, which will be airing July 17th, Clary finds herself alone with Jace as the two of them set out on a mission to test out new rune powers. Simon is struggling to tell his family the truth about what he is, luckily Maia is going to be there by his side the whole way through.

This episode will be brought to you by the one and only former Vampire Diaries star, Paul Wesley.

It’s safe to say that Paul has a niche for directing, as he has had experience directing since 2014 when he made his directorial debut on The Vampire Diaries and directed a couple more episodes throughout the following years.

It’s not unusual for long-term cast members to dabble in directing the show that they’re on and Paul became the first member of The Vampire Diaries to do so.

“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do ever since I started acting,” Paul said of his director’s duties. “I’ve always really respected directors. As much as I was interested in acting, whenever I watched a film it was always the directing that really stood out to me. I always envisioned doing it at one point or another.”

It’s good to see Paul Wesley back in the directing business! From the pictures we’ve seen so far, this episode looks amazing!

We have no doubts about Paul making it one of the best episodes of season two yet.
