Vanessa Hudgens is under criminal investigation after romantic Valentine’s getaway with her boyfriend, Austin Butler.
The couple celebrated Valentine’s Day with a hiking trip in Coconino National Forest in Flagstaff, Arizona. Hudgens and Butler shared several romantic pictures from their getaway, but one photo has caused them some trouble. What was probably originally meant as a romantic gesture could now have serious consequences for both of them.
Hudgens posted a photo on Instagram of the couple’s names carved into a rock with a heart around it. Unfortunately for them, there’s a federal law that prohibits anyone from “damaging natural surfaces or property of the United States.” The picture has since been deleted, but the pair is reportedly under police investigation. If charged with a misdemeanor they could either face a $5,000 penalty or up to six months in jail.
