Earlier this year War Child held a series of Brits Week shows with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and The Vamps involved. This month the likes of Jon Hopkins, Tom Misch & Friends and Everything Everything are taking over the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. The trio of shows makes up ‘War Child Presents…Safe & Sound‘.
These very special shows will be taking place in aid of War Child UK on the 25th, 26th and 27th November. The full line-up has been announced with the 25th featuring Jon Hopkins, Alexis Taylor & George Fitzgerald (DJ). The 26th sees Tom Misch & Friends supported by Laura Misch and the closing show is headlined by Everything Everything with Gwenno and Audiobooks.
All proceeds of the shows will be going towards War Child UK as part of their Learn to Live Campaign. Ticketmaster will be donating a portion of the booking fee towards the campaign, standard and VIP tickets are still available from here.
The Learn To Live campaign twins schools in the UK with schools where the children attending have experienced war in countries including Jordan, Iraq and the Central African Republic. Teaming up with the Evening Standard and Independent they are aiming to raise awareness of how important education and mental health support is for the children affected by the war in the countries mentioned. 50% of those impacted by war are children, children lacking the support they need to cope during these traumatic times and even in life after war.
