2016 has been an incredible year for British country music duo Ward Thomas; they have signed to Sony Music, performed at the Royal Albert Hall,toured the UK and Ireland and became the first ever UK country act to score a number 1 album on the official British chart.
And now their ‘Cartwheels’ LP has been officially certified Silver in the UK meaning it has sold over 60,000 copies since its release in September this year.
The Silver certification of the record breaking number 1 album was announced last night while the girls were on the Bob Harris Radio 2 country show, and was officially confirmed today by BPI.

‘Cartwheels‘ is Ward Thomas’ second album following the release of their 2014 independently released number 1 country album ‘From Where We Stand‘, and their first via their record label Sony.
22-year-old twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy who are collectively known as Ward Thomas will be hitting the road once again next year as part of their Spring 2017 tour of the UK.
Tickets for their 2017 Cartwheels tour are on sale now.
The New Year will also see the country stars release their brand new single ‘Boomerang’ which is the fourth track to be lifted from ‘Cartwheels’.
