At the end of April, Avril Lavigne performed a special song for The Late Late Show with James Corden. On the show, she performed the album track “I Fell In Love With The Devil” which is taken from her sixth studio album Head Above Water.
Before she took to the stage, James Corden chatted to her during the opening of the show, where she came to her dressing room door and spoke to him through the camera. James Corden said that he watched her rehearse earlier that day, and Avril Lavigne revealed that she was going to perform a special song just for the show, one that she hasn’t performed before. It turned out, that that song was the album track “I Fell In Love With The Devil”.

As for the performance itself, Avril Lavigne was joined on stage with her backing band – as usual. The song is a gentle rock ballad and easily showcases her vocals. It’s clear the song means a lot to her since you can see the emotion in her performance.
The stage was lit with red lighting throughout which complimented her skin-tight red snake-skin trousers, which contrast with the rest of her black outfit, which included a jacket, an Abbey Dawn tee, and combat boots.

Avril Lavigne was always meant to be on stage performing, that much is clear. She seems really happy to be singing a song that means a lot to her, in front of a crowd. She’s such an inspiration to us all as she isn’t letting Lyme disease defeat her and stop her from doing what she loves.
“I Fell In Love With The Devil” can be found on her sixth studio album Head Above Water, which she released last year. It was released via Avril Lavigne Music & Entertainment under exclusive licence to BMG Rights Management. The song was written by Avril Lavigne and produced by Chris Baseford.
