JoJo is literally giving it her all. First she drops her tringle singles last year, next she releases “F**k Apologies” with Wiz Khalifa as the featured artist, and now she acoustically sings a clean version of the song as well as covers Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better”.
Singing acoustically, JoJo’s “No Apologies” is sassy and moving. Who needs a swear word when you can sing like this?
JoJo’s vocals are on fire, proving she was meant to sing. Exposing her vocal ability in this acoustic performance, she shows how technically beautiful this anti-apologetic song actually is.
We may not have Wiz Khalifa’s punchy rap, but JoJo really brought it, and with just an acoustic guitar to add the backing track, she really puts on a show.
Performance vibes to the max, she throws emotion out to the listeners who really feel every word of this song. Stripped down and vulnerable, her vocals shine throughout this clean version of the song.
JoJo then went on to perform a cover of Shawn Mendes’ “Treat You Better”. Swapping the lyrics to suit her portrayal of the song.
This cover version really shows off her soulful voice, and she performs it with style and appreciation.
Changing the chorus lyrics to:
“I know that I can treat you better than she can, cuz any guy like you deserves a real woman.”
Although it’s vocally stunning, the song is too new for a switch of the lyrics to rhythmically work. It just feels out of place, yet kudos for her singing it without a slip-up.
After seeing the video, Shawn Mendes linked it on Twitter and showed his appreciation of the cover, followed by heart eyed emojis.

Back in April, Shawn Mendes expressed how much he respects JoJo as an artist, songwriter and singer in a tweet. So therefore we can only imagine his surprise and excitement at finding out she covered one of his songs.
Honestly. I think if i could be the male version of a girl artist it'd be Jojo. Swear. Super down

Could a collaboration be too much to ask? Imagine the melodic harmonies these two could create, and just imagine the song they could potentially write together.
For now we can only hope. What did you make of JoJo’s performances on The Elvis Duran Show? Let us know by tweeting us @CelebMix.
