Last week we told you all how Emma Clayson’s dying wish was to meet Shane Filan and how through the amazing power of social media, it was going to happen.
Emma was last year diagnosed with skin cancer and last year was given the heartbreaking news that it was terminal. Her dying wish was to meet Ex-Westlife star Shane Filan. Emma and her sister had bought tickets for his upcoming “Right Here” tour, which hits Northampton next week.Unfortunately, Emma has become too ill to attend so her sister Becky sent out a post on social media, which went viral.
On Friday afternoon, Emma’s wish came true, she got to meet Shane. The visit had originally been planned for next week while Shane was in Northampton for his gig. But , unfortunately, Emma’s health declined when Shane heard the news he immediately flew from his home in Ireland to meet Emma earlier than planned.
Shane spent over an hour sat at Emma’s bedside talking to her and holding her hand.
Emma’s sister Becky who was behind the social media campaign for Emma to meet Shane told the Northampton post how Emma “had this massive smile on her face” when he walked into her bedroom.
Shane was told that Emma plans to his song ‘Always Tomorrow’ played at her funeral. He told her that whenever he sings it, he is going to think of her.
“Shane also promised that he would be dedicating his concert in Northampton to her, and then spoke about the pictures of him which were on Emma’s wall – and heard about the time she sneaked off to Dublin to watch a Westlife concert without telling us! He was gobsmacked.” –Becky Clayson.
Earlier today Becky posted that heartbreakingly Emma had passed away just hours after her wish came true.
Shane has also taken to Twitter to express his condolences.
