YouTube Star Lisa Schwartz Has A New Series on ABC

Lisa Schwartz goes by the username “lisbug” on YouTube. Throughout her nine years on the site, she accumulated 2 million subscribers for her channel. Now she is taking the next step in her career by starring in her own series.

Lisa stars in This Isn’t Working, which is available to stream online through the ABC network. Her character, Sarah Turner, is an aspiring actress who is working part-time jobs to make ends meet. Lisa co-produced and wrote the series with Sean Kearney.

This Isn’t Working is one of four digital-only originals on the ABC application. The network is working to adapt with millennials, who are watching more programs online than on their televisions.

What To Text Him Back, Farm To Plate, and She Talks, are the other three shows that have been picked up by ABC.

Lisa recently uploaded a video where she explained that the idea for the show came years ago.

“If you’re a really old school lisbug fan, you know years ago I made this one video called bull**** jobs, and in it, I promised that I would do a whole series. It’s been about six years and I finally did it.”

She adds, “It’s funny, it’s weird, it’s cute, and you’ll see a lot of familiar faces.” In the trailer for This Isn’t Working, two YouTubers make an appearance, Drew Monson and Alexis G Zall.
