After leaving One Direction and splitting up with his fiancée Perrie Edwards, if the rumours are true Zayn’s exit from his band One Direction, is set to be a successful one. He is set to play with The Weeknd tonight at MTV VMA’s. The Weeknd’s latest albums include collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Kanye West.
A source close to Zayn said: ‘He’s been rehearsing all day. Obviously when you spend so much time with a band and a group you have support so now he’s on his own it’s different.’
Earlier this month Zayn posted a Weeknd song on twitter perhaps hinting that this may occur. Zayn is currently in LA working on his solo album being supported by his mother Tricia.
The VMA’s will be held at the Microsoft Theatre in LA tonight. Nicki Minaj will be preforming in the opening set and two years after twerking on Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus will be presenting it.
